Summer Storage Options
Are you looking for storage for the summer?
Storage is not available on the Scripps campus during the summer, however, there are local storage facilities in the area!
Are you planning on getting a storage box delivered to campus?
Over the past few years we have experienced a high volume of students utilizing personally rented storage boxes. This year we have designated four zones for students to have their boxes dropped off. PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO LIMITED PARKING SPACES, STORAGE BOXES ARE TO BE DROPPED OFF AND PICKED UP WITHIN A MAXIMUM OF 3 DAYS.
The earliest that storage boxes can be dropped off to the designated zones is Monday, May 7, 2018. The last date boxes can be dropped off is Saturday, May 12, 2018.
Please clearly communicate this information to your storage company.
Upon delivery, your storage box must be removed by your storage box company no later than Monday, May 14, 2018. Please communicate to your storage company that it is require they pick up your box NO LATER than this date. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Please note that the indicated four zones are the only areas that boxes may be placed. Any boxes placed outside the designated zones are subject to be removed. It is the responsibility of the student renting a storage box to communicate the appropriate delivery zone to the storage company. Students utilizing a storage box that will be delivered to Scripps must also submit a Storage Box Information Form.
- All storage containers must be registered with the Office of Residential Life. Specific drop off and pick up dates for each semester are indicated on the online registration form. Please submit your online registration here: https://scrippscollege.formstack.com/forms/scrippsstoragebox18.
Please refer to the below map for the following designated storage box zones:
Zone A: In front of parking garage entrance
Zone B: On Platt, east of Rose Garden lot
Zone C: On Platt, west of Rose Garden lot, and east of the Oasis
We encourage you to continue to be vigilant about securing your storage boxes appropriately, as Scripps staff does not monitor the boxes.
We anticipate a high volume of students moving and utilizing the lots behind Browning/Dorsey/Office of Student Engagement (OSE)/SCORE, as well as the Rose Garden, and Oasis, May 7-11th. We encourage students to use these lots as a loading zones.
Additionally, please note that there will be limited use of the Service Road on the east side of Kimberly and GJW hall. Please note that starting at 7pm on Friday, May 11th, there will be no access to park behind GJW, due to commencement preparation and to keep the fire lane accessible; Plan accordingly.
Seniors: We ask that you please not park your vehicles in the spaces identified as loading zones starting on Monday, May 7th until after commencement on Saturday, May 12th, so as to provide more ease for non-graduates to move out of the residence halls prior to commencement.
Please note the attached map for suggested loading zones.
We thank you in advance for your cooperation with these new processes. As a community we need to do our best to make moving out as easy as possible for everyone. For any questions or concerns, please contact ResLife@scrippscollege.edu.
