Fall 2017 New Student Move-in Information:
Residence Halls open for New Students on Thursday, Aug 24 from 8am-12pm. New Students can check into their respective assigned halls between this time period. There will be large poster signs outside each residence hall indicating the residence hall name. If you are unable to check in during this designated date and time please email email@example.com.
New Students are required to attend their hall’s Opening Floor Meeting on Thursday, August 24 from 4-5pm and the subsequent Roommate Agreement meeting on Sunday, August 27 from 8-9pm (see your RA for the specific meeting locations).
Spring 2018 Move-in Information: The residence halls open for returning students on Sunday, January 13 from 10am-10pm.
Moving in: What to Bring and What to Leave at Home: We want you to feel completely comfortable in your room at Scripps. Click the link for helpful tips on what to bring and not to bring to assist you in making a smooth move.
Laundry: Each Residence Hall comes with a laundry room equipped with washers and dryers. It costs $1.00 to wash clothes and $.50 to dry clothes. The machines do not take coins, instead you must upload Claremont cash onto your student ID card and then use it to complete your washer/dryer needs.
Claremont Cash: Claremont Cash can be used to purchase both food and non-food items throughout The Claremont Colleges, as well as local merchants in and around Claremont. All students, faculty and staff of The Claremont Colleges have a Claremont Cash account established as soon as your ID card is created. Funds may be deposited into your account on the internet at http://cards.cuc.claremont.edu.
Student ID Cards (What happens if I lose my card?): If you lose your ID card will need to visit the Connection located in the Honnold Mudd Library on the first floor to purchase a new ID card. There is a replacement fee of $15.00. If an ID card is broken or damaged, you may bring in your broken or damaged card and the Connection may not charge you if you have all the pieces. Parking: If you are bring a car to campus it is important that you first get it registered at campus Safety. You will need your car registration card and driver’s license. Once processed you will receive a sticker to put in your car notating clearance to park on campus in designated student parking spots. Please only park in designated students spots otherwise you may be ticketed and/or towed at your expense. Register your Vehicle in Advance.
