Major Declaration Forms

To formally declare a major, in consultation with your adviser, complete and return the relevant form(s) to the Office of the Registrar by deadlines published on the Registrar home page.

Completion of at least one major is required for a Scripps degree. Students must formally declare their major by the end of their sophomore year, although they may do so at any time prior. No additions or changes to a major or minor are allowed after the tenth day of the final semester of enrollment. Scripps requirements must be met if the major or minor is offered at Scripps. See Degree Requirements and Academic Information, Choices in Majors and Minors sections for the full policy regarding majors and minors.

ATTENTION: Students must use the catalog from the year they entered the college. Students may choose a subsequent year’s catalog by informing the Registrar’s Office. Students may not use a previous year’s catalog prior to their entry into the college. The Scripps Catalog is the official source for major and degree requirements. Major declaration forms are intended to be used as a tool, but do not supplant major requirements as outlined in the catalog or as approved by your major adviser.
