SCORE presents Thinking Through Oppressive Speech
Posted: October 24, 2014
3:00 – 4:30 p.m. – at SCORE
Presented by Dr. John Ramsey, visiting professor of Philosophy
Hate speech, micro-aggressions, and other problematic language do more than offend or insult. Such language oppresses others. We’ll discuss how oppressive speech works and how, as allies, we can be more aware of our own use of oppressive language. We’ll also brainstorm ideas about how to respond when others do so. For more information about the event, call 909-621-8277 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
