Karen Fagan Departure
Posted: December 16, 2014
Dear Scripps College Community,
With regret, I’d like to announce Karen Fagan will leave Scripps College effective January 15. As the Director of Public Events for the past three years, Karen has collaborated with numerous members of the College community and will be sorely missed.
In addition to coordinating all Malott Commons programming, Karen managed high-profile events including Commencement, the Ellen Browning Scripps Medal ceremony for Gabrielle Giffords ’93, the world premiere of True Witness: A Civil Rights Cantata, and the “Racism and Community” and “Challenging Privilege, Building Inclusion” program series. Karen’s significant contributions to strengthen public events on campus over the past several years include developing cross-departmental collaborations with faculty, staff, and students, enhancing accountability in event planning and production, and expanding participation in the programming process.
We wish Karen continued success as she assumes her new position, Director of Public Programming and College Events, for Pomona College.
