Guidance on Wednesday, November 26 Vacation Time Usage

Good Morning and Happy Thanksgiving!

There has been some confusion regarding the early closure on Wednesday, November 26. The administrative offices are closed beginning at noon. Here is some guidance regarding use of vacation time and holiday pay.

Employee electing to use vacation time on Wednesday, November 26, 2014

  • Non-Exempt employees will list 4 hours as vacation and 4 hours as holiday
  • As exempt employees take vacation in 8 hour increments, they will need to list the entire day as vacation

Working on Wednesday, November 26, 2014

  • Non-Exempt employees that are normally scheduled to work 8 hours, will input their time worked for the first four hours and list four hours as holiday. If you are normally scheduled to work less than 8 hours on Wednesday, you will need to insert your normal scheduled hours until the noon hour.
  • Exempt employees will not need to adjust their time records

Please note that based on college needs, you may be requested to work past noon on Wednesday, November 26, 2014. If you are requested to work past noon, non-exempt employees will receive holiday pay for hours worked past noon.
