CMS Athletics Week in Review: January 13-19

Women’s Basketball

The Athenas went 2-0 at home during the week with wins over Cal Lutheran (57-51) on Thursday and Caltech (88-39) on Saturday. Senior forward Chloe Dobbert (CMC) averaged 10.5 points during the week, including a team-high 16 points off the bench against Cal Lutheran. CMS is now 14-2 overall and in a three-way tie for first place in conference with Redlands and Chapman at 6-1. Next up for the Athenas this week is a road game at Redlands on Saturday, Jan. 25.

Women’s Swimming & Diving

The Athenas defeated Occidental 222-75 and won 14 of 16 events at Axelrood Pool on Saturday afternoon to run their conference record to 4-0 on the season. The Athenas were led by a pair of double-winners. Senior Michele Kee (CMC) narrowly missed her own pool record in the 100-yard butterfly and also raced to first in the 50-yard freestyle. Junior Louisa Dunwiddie (CMC) pulled away from the field in the 1,650-yard freestyle and the 400-yard individual medley. CMS hosts Caltech and Cal Lutheran in its next meet on Saturday, Jan. 25.
