Emergency Office Closing

Scripps realizes its obligation to employees’ physical well-being and strives to maintain a safe place work environment. In the event of campus or local area emergency situations, such as inclement weather, power or other utility failure, fire, flood, earthquake or other natural disaster or crisis situations, the president and senior staff will determine if the campus will close or remain open. Campus communication about closures will be distributed via email and/or ConnectEd®, and department supervisors will provide further instruction if needed.

If the College has to close for a full day or more, non-exempt employees will not be paid, but they will have the option to use any accrued but unused paid time off.
