Staff Council

The Staff Council provides a process for communication between staff and administrative leadership to enhance the role of staff within the College community. The Council is composed of staff employees who act as a liaison between employees and administrative leadership to promote communication,   partnership, increased efficiencies in the College’s operation, and career development. This may include the communication of suggestion s and interests regarding practices and procedures affecting staff to improve productivity and morale. The Council will focus on more effective ways to utilize and develop the experience and expertise 0£ College’s staff. As such, it will not involve issues about employee grievances, wages and other conditions of employment.   Additionally, this committee may suggest staff development activities that would streamline or enhance current operating procedures, or otherwise support the Scripps College mission and strategic initiatives.

Staff members will be allowed to nominate themselves or someone from their department to serve on the Council. The Committee will select a chair who will act as the committee’s primary contact with the College Administration. The Director of Human Resources or designee will serve as an ex-officio member of the committee. Questions should be directed to staffcouncil@scrippscollege.edu
