Organ and Bone Marrow Leave

Employees may take paid leave for up to 30 days for the purpose of organ donation and up to five days for bone marrow donation. Employees must provide written verification to Human Resources that he or she is an organ or bone marrow donor and that there is a medical necessity for the organ or bone marrow donation. The leave will not be considered a break in service for the purposes of the employee’s rights to salary adjustments, sick leave, vacation, annual leave or seniority. Leave taken for the purposes of donating bone marrow or an organ may run concurrently with leave under FMLA but not leave under CFRA.
