Military Spousal Leave

The spouse or domestic partner of a “qualified service member” may take up to 10 days of leave from work while their spouse is on leave from deployment during a period of military conflict. A “qualified service member” means a person who is any of the following:

  • A member of the Armed forces of the United States who has been deployed during a period of military conflict to an area designated as a combat theater or combat zone by the President of the United States; or
  • A member of the National Guard or Reserves who has been deployed during a period of military conflict.

To be eligible for such leave, the employee must inform notify the College of the employee’s intended leave within two days of receiving notice of the active member’s leave from deployment. The employee must provide written documentation of his or her spouse’s or domestic partner’s leave from deployment to Human Resources.
