Department Goals and/or Objectives and Student Learning Outcomes

Goals are broad statements that describe what the program wants to accomplish. 

  1. Provide students with assistance to strengthen academic skills and achieve academic success.
  2. Hire, support, and train Academic Resources and Services employees/ staff.
  3. Collaborate with faculty.
  4. Connect with other campus and consortium resources.
  5. Market Academic Resources and Services programs.
  6. Provide students with documented disabilities access to reasonable academic accommodations.

Outcomes describe specific knowledge, abilities, values, and attitudes students should demonstrate.

Academic Resources and Services will:

  • Establish a collaborative relationship with faculty.
  • Provide students with appropriate resources at Scripps and throughout the consortium.
  • Inform students, faculty and staff of available resources offered.

Student tutees will:

  • Receive tutorial support in their requested subject area(s).
  • Be able to enhance their academic performance in their tutored subject area(s).
  • Be aware of available resources offered through Academic Resources and Services.
  • Receive appropriate services to support their academic success.

Student tutors will:

  • Be able to provide academic support to students requesting subject area assistance.
  • Be able to demonstrate leadership skills.
  • Be aware of available resources offered through Academic Resources and Services.
