Fall 2019 New Student Move-in Information – WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 28
The move-in process is scheduled to begin at 7:00 AM on the steps of Honnold Gates. A map outlining the move-in route is attached. To ensure a smooth check-in, each student will be assigned a specific time to move into their residence hall. Please make every effort to arrive at the time assigned; early arrivals may be asked to wait until their designated check-in time. To assist our staff with getting you to check-in and your residence hall quickly and efficiently, we have created a placard that you need to display on your vehicle dashboard. The placard should be displayed for the entire day of move-in to ensure you are routed to Scripps’ buildings, as there are several events happening at the neighboring Claremont Colleges on the same day. Placards & arrival times will be shared in mid-July, when housing assignments are shared.
As you prepare to pack up, please be mindful that you are sharing space with others. If you plan to shop for things before you arrive, consider ordering online and have them picked up at store near Scripps College or shipped to your campus address. You can also forgo shopping at home and pick up what you need once you arrive. Mail Services is now accepting large packages; simply use your mailing address that was provided in your housing assignment notices and the package should be here when you arrive. Unloading of your vehicle will need to be quick to prevent a backlog, so please pack accordingly. We will provide move-in carts and hand-dollies to assist with this process.
