Office of the Registrar

The Registrar’s Office supports the academic mission of Scripps College by preserving the integrity, accuracy, and privacy of all academic records; interpreting academic policies and procedures for members of the Scripps community; and distributing these records effectively and efficiently within applicable policies and regulations. Activities include registration and course scheduling; academic record creation, maintenance and archival; transcript ordering; enrollment and degree certification; monitoring student progress to degree completion; catalog production; research and reporting of various statistics; international student advising; and certification for veterans’ benefits.

Important Dates/Deadlines: Spring 2018

January 2 All grades due in the Registrar’s Office by 8:00 a.m.
January 3 Fall 2017 grades visible on the portal
January 16 Classes begin
January 29 Last day to add classes
March 8 Last day to drop classes without academic penalty
March 15 Notify Registrar of any enrollment status changes for fall 2018
March 30 Cesar Chavez Holiday – Colleges Closed
April 11 Second-sem sophomores declare major; deadline to submit Junior Major/Minor Forms
April 17-19 Preregistration for fall semester
May 2 Last day of classes; deadline to withdraw from a course
May 3 Capstone Day
May 3-4 Reading Days
May 4 Senior grades due in the Registrar’s Office by noon
May 7-11 Final Examinations
May 12 Commencement begins at 5:00 p.m.
May 17 All other grades due in the Registrar’s Office by noon
May 23 Spring 2018 grades displayed on the portal
September 4 Fall 2018 classes begin
