Preview the new Scripps external website

Posted: April 7, 2014

Greetings faculty, students and staff!

You are invited to attend a preview of what will become the new Scripps College external website.

The Communication and Marketing Team has been working on an evolution of the College website, and the project is approaching the transition phase.

The evolution and transition of the site involve the following highlights:

  • A new home page will feature a strategic content mix that addresses the College’s multiple audiences;
  • The site will run on the WordPress content management system, the same system that runs Inside Scripps;
  • Expanded decentralization of web content management will enable a greater number of departmental and program staff to become content “editors,” who will be trained on the system and become capable of making their own content changes;
  • Attractive, viewer-friendly landing and content pages that can be automated to pull additional content from data sources.

The target date for the transition and launch of the evolved site is in June. However, we are at the point in the project where campus community member input and feedback is needed. We will ask you to share your impressions of the general layout/design, look, and content mix of the new home page as well as the proposed navigation links and how well the home page is a reflection of Scripps College as a whole.

We hope you will participate in one of the “preview sessions,” at which you will see a schematic of the proposed home page and the internal landing and content pages. Any campus community member is welcome to attend any session:
