Event Funding Opportunities

Posted: February 10, 2016

The Office of Public Events and Community Programs provides monetary and energetic support to a variety of programs and events at Scripps. Our recent initiatives have included last semester’s performance “Awakening to the Environment,” the writer Donna Freitas and this semester’s productions of Ananya Dance Theatre and Pandora Thomas, among others.

We’re very pleased to announce two special funding opportunities for our community.

Public Events Partnership Grants: These grants provide support that may include (and is not limited to) the following: honoraria for invited speakers/artists; technical, production, and front-of-house event support; marketing and PR outreach; inclusion in Public Events marketing collateral. Requests will be considered twice a year. The deadline for any program support for the Fall 2016 semester is March 15

Public Events Co-Sponsorship Grants: These grants are considered on a rolling basis until funds are exhausted. Please submit your proposal as early as possible, but no later than four weeks prior to the date of your event.

Requests are evaluated by the Event Advisory Committee – a group consisting of faculty, students, and staff – based on their fit with the subject-matter requirements of the funding sources, their potential contribution to academic excellence, and the number of community members benefited by the program. To maximize the availability of these funds for our diverse community, the committee also encourages applicants to seek support from other departments or institutions. Priority will be given to requesters who have not received funding during the previous semester.

Please keep in mind that all activities should be free and open to the public.

All applicants must complete the below form in order to be considered for financial support.
