Announcing the passing of Nancy Trejo
Posted: February 18, 2015
Dear Scripps College Community,
I am deeply saddened to report that today I learned of the recent passing of Nancy Trejo, a much-loved member of Scripps’ staff for nearly twenty-eight years. Nancy was hired in April 1986 and had just celebrated her retirement in January of last year.
Nancy worked as a Building Attendant, primarily in Steele Hall, where she interacted regularly with her fellow staff, faculty, and students. She was a loyal employee who was always well-informed about campus news and events, and who exhibited excellent attendance records throughout her nearly three-decade career at Scripps. Her coworkers recall her thoughtful nature, and that she was often known to bring special treats, children’s toys, or books to share. I know she will be missed by her many friends and colleagues at Scripps, and especially by her large and very close family.
Nancy is survived by her husband (Robert), two sons and a daughter (Robert, Richard and Vicky), six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. The family will let us know when and where services will be held. Meanwhile, cards and letters of condolence may be sent to the Office of Human Resources, who will deliver them to Nancy’s family.
I know you all join me in keeping Nancy’s family in your thoughts, and her memory in mind.
