2014 W-2s are now available through the Ultipro website; you may print them from the portal or wait for printed copies to be mailed by January 31 to the address on record.

Time Sheet Approval Issues

Please note that any computer that received the Windows re-image already, may have issues with approving time sheets in Ultipro when using Internet Explorer. Please ensure you log into Ultipro through Google Chrome or Firefox to ensure no issues or delays in time sheet approvals.

Saying Goodbye to GroupWise – Email Conversion Update

At the start of the academic year, we shared the news that Scripps had selected Office365 to replace GroupWise with launch date of March 24, 2015. With the fall semester closed, I wanted to provide a progress update to the community including new benefits announced recently by Microsoft.

New Financial System

I am writing to inform you that Scripps College has joined together with The Claremont Colleges (TCC) to implement a new financial system that will transform the way we are able to offer accounting and budgeting services to the Colleges. After a comprehensive search, TCC selected Workday Financials, a modern, cloud‐based system.

Professor Ken Gonzales-Day Art Exhibit

Professor of Art Ken Gonzales-Day has been invited to show his artwork at the upcoming Venturing Out of the Heart of Darkness exhibition at The Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts+Culture in Charlotte, North Carolina. The exhibit opens Feb. 7.

CP&R seeks internship-grant readers

This winter break CP&R is gearing up for internship grant season. As you may know, last year Scripps was able to award an unprecedented 101 internship grants. We’re expecting a high number of applicants again this year and we are reaching out to ask for your support in reading and reviewing student applications.

Professor Nancy Macko Art Exhibition

The Sturt Haaga Gallery in La Cañada Flintridge has invited Professor of Art Nancy Macko to participate in the upcoming group show, ELEMENTAL|Seeing the Light. The exhibition will be on display from Jan. 11 to April 5.

Tiernan Field House Fitness Assessments

Since January is well underway with many fitness, health, and wellness resolutions, we are offering two group sessions next week. Tuesday, January 13 and Wednesday, January 14, 2015, 12:00 p.m. -1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Pre-registration is requested.

I am pleased to announce that Josh Reeder has been promoted to Director of Facilities effective immediately. Josh has been a part of the Scripps community as Assistant Director of Facilities since the start of this academic year.

Karen Fagan Departure

With regret, I’d like to announce Karen Fagan will leave Scripps College effective January 15. As the Director of Public Events for the past three years, Karen has collaborated with numerous members of the College community and will be sorely missed.

Announcing the departure of David Hansen

With sadness for our community but excitement for him, we announce David Hansen’s resignation as Weinberg Family Dean of the Keck Science Department effective June 30, 2015. He will be returning to his former position in the Chemistry Department at Amherst College.

2013 Summary Annual Reports from CUC

Please find attached the Summary Annual Reports for benefit plans of The Claremont Colleges for the year ending December 31, 2013 from CUC. These reports provide you with basic financial data for the benefit plans of The Claremont Colleges in a format required by the United States Department of Labor and include instructions on how you may obtain additional information about the plans.

Niel Errickson’s new endeavor

Teal Dot bystander engagement training

The 7C Teal Dot program for violence prevention launched earlier this year at The Claremont Colleges, and the coordination team is excited to add a training session from 9:00am-12:00pm on December 16 for faculty and staff before winter recess.

New work order system launches

The Facilities and the Business Affairs office are pleased to announce the launch of a new work order system! Under this new work order system, you will be able to request maintenance and housekeeping/custodial services online and it will reflect the status of your work order, so you will not need to make follow-up calls. You will also see when the work order has been received, scheduled, or completed.

Give the gift of Scripps College Olive Oil

Given the drought and other weather conditions, we will not be having an olive harvest this year, but don’t despair! We have a limited quantity of our Silver medal winning extra virgin olive oil remaining. All proceeds from the sales go to fund sustainability initiatives at Scripps.

Toy Drive for Local Foster Children

Over 60,000 California children find themselves living in foster care at any given time, many of which have entered with little to no possessions. Scripps College Staff Council is pleased to announce that we are partnering with Sleep Train in collection of unwrapped toys for children of all ages.
