Teal Dot bystander engagement training

The 7C Teal Dot program for violence prevention launched earlier this year at The Claremont Colleges, and the coordination team is excited to add a training session from 9:00am-12:00pm on December 16 for faculty and staff before winter recess.

New work order system launches

The Facilities and the Business Affairs office are pleased to announce the launch of a new work order system! Under this new work order system, you will be able to request maintenance and housekeeping/custodial services online and it will reflect the status of your work order, so you will not need to make follow-up calls. You will also see when the work order has been received, scheduled, or completed.

There has been some confusion regarding the early closure on Wednesday, November 26. The administrative offices are closed beginning at noon. Here is some guidance regarding use of vacation time and holiday pay.

Give the gift of Scripps College Olive Oil

Given the drought and other weather conditions, we will not be having an olive harvest this year, but don’t despair! We have a limited quantity of our Silver medal winning extra virgin olive oil remaining. All proceeds from the sales go to fund sustainability initiatives at Scripps.

Toy Drive for Local Foster Children

Over 60,000 California children find themselves living in foster care at any given time, many of which have entered with little to no possessions. Scripps College Staff Council is pleased to announce that we are partnering with Sleep Train in collection of unwrapped toys for children of all ages.

Steele Hall West Walkway improvements

Beginning Thursday, November 20, the walkway will be repaired due to lifting curbs along tree roots and broken pavers.

This year’s vaccination clinics were so successful that an additional flu clinic has been scheduled for December 3 to meet the increase in demand.

Professor Yuval Avnur Awarded Grant From the Immortality Project at UC Riverside

Yuval Avnur, Scripps College associate professor of philosophy, has been awarded nearly $100,000 by The Immortality Project at University of California, Riverside, as part of a multi-year effort to examine the social, ethical, and scientific ramifications of immortality.

Open Enrollment begins November 4 and concludes November 25. If you do not actively enroll in the desired benefit you will not be covered in 2015.
