Barbara & Scott Bice Faculty-Student Dialogue Fund

Thanks to the wonderful generosity of Trustee Barbara Bice and her husband Scott, funds for non-academic faculty-student interaction have been made available. The funds are intended to facilitate student-professor conversations outside of the classroom with the goal of building relationships both academic and personal.  Activities, which are expected to foster dialogue, can range from hosting a dinner party to going out for coffee or lunch and conversation, and may perhaps be structured around prearranged discussion topics. The committee encourages applications that involve non course-related activities.

How to Apply

Both faculty and students are eligible to apply for funding.  Applications should include information about the activity, the number of people attending, the college association of each attendee, and whether or not alcohol will be served. Submit applications online here.

The Bice application review committee will review applications. The spending cap per person per event is set at $25.00.  Funding will be granted on a reimbursement basis only, and recipients will need to submit original itemized receipts to Kathy Castro in the Dean of Faculty’s office.  There is not a limit to how often one may apply for funding, but priority will be given to those who have not previously been granted monies.
